Detailed Information:
Milne Institute Inc. offers training which combines the analytic and the intuitive approaches to Craniosacral Work in a meditative setting. Sacrum has its etymological root in "sacred" and originates from the Egyptian mystery schools of 1,500 BC. Visionary Craniosacral Work is based on sensitive and reverential touch: Kerri Hulme noted that "Hands are sacred things. Touch is personal fingers of love, feelers of blind eyes, tongues of those who cannot talk." In A Book of Five Rings, Miyamoto Musashi observed, "The Way cannot be taught in detail, but it can be grasped intuitively."
In Visionary Craniosacral Work, presence is more important than technique, but accurate technique is the discipline upon which presence is founded and built. These classes honor the sacred nature of this work and offer a path to mastery in this most fulfilling of Ways.
A Diversity of Programs
Tuscany Summer Intensive, August 27-Sept. 3 and Sept. 3-10, 2005
This seven-day seminar is offered to Milne Institute students and graduates who have completed at least C3. It is residential, taught in English with German translation, and takes place at "La Ginestra," a hotel 20 km south of Florence, Italy.
Cranial Anatomy
This focus of this three-day, 24-hour class is the study of craniosacral anatomy. But it is not just anatomy! While the class will give students the anatomical foundation to make full use of Milne Institute's Visionary Craniosacral Work program, it will also include movement, contact improvisation and training in subtle touch interspersed throughout the day.
Visionary Craniosacral Work Classes
This class series is open to those who have completed a minimum 40-hour massage certification program or similar coursework that provides an understanding of anatomy and physiology, in addition to refined touch. Other health professionals with a background in sensitive touch are also welcomed.
Milne Institute classes are approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, the California Board of Registered Nursing, the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (Canada) for Continuing Education Units (CEUs); and by the Rolf Institute for elective credits.
